Privacy Policy

The Korea Venture Market Institute (the "Institute") protects users' personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection Act and other applicable laws, and processes personal information as set out below.

1. Items and method of collection

This form creates an email draft in your browser. This site does not send form entries to its server or save them in browser storage. Review and send the email yourself in your mail app. The Institute receives and stores sent emails through Hiworks (Gabia). This page cannot verify email delivery or server receipt. There is no membership account, registration, password or telephone inquiry service. The Institute does not collect passwords, resident registration numbers or other unique identification information, or sensitive information. Contact is by email only.

· Inquiry form: required — contact name, email, inquiry content and consent to collection and use; optional — organization/company and inquiry topic.
· Publication and news subscription request: required — name and email; optional — affiliation/organization, interests and questions.
· Email inquiry: name, affiliation, email address and inquiry content voluntarily provided by the sender.

2. Purpose of use

Collected information is used to respond to inquiries, discuss research and advisory collaboration, and receive, confirm and respond to publication and news subscription requests. Research and policy news or event notices are sent only with separate consent. Users may unsubscribe or withdraw consent at any time.

3. Retention and use period

Collected personal information is retained for the period necessary to respond to the inquiry and to handle any related dispute, and is then destroyed. Inquiry information is retained for up to one year after completion of the reply to handle follow-up inquiries or related disputes, and is destroyed without delay when the processing purpose is fulfilled or consent is withdrawn, except where applicable law requires retention. Subscription request information is retained until the user unsubscribes and is then destroyed. Information is destroyed without delay when consent is withdrawn, except where retention is required by applicable law for the relevant period.

4. Destruction procedure and method

Personal information whose retention period has elapsed or whose purpose has been achieved is destroyed without delay. Electronic files are deleted by means that make recovery impossible, and printed materials are shredded or incinerated.

5. Provision to third parties and outsourcing

The Institute does not provide users' personal information to third parties. However, in order to operate the website (hosting, access-log retention and security management) and to send, receive and store inquiry emails, the Institute uses the external services below, ensuring that they are managed safely and in accordance with applicable law within the scope of those tasks. Except where specifically provided by law, the Institute does not provide or outsource personal information to any external party for any other purpose.

This website is hosted on GitHub Pages. GitHub logs and stores visitors’ IP addresses for security purposes. See the GitHub Pages documentation and GitHub Privacy Statement.

6. Security measures

The Institute limits access to personal information to the minimum necessary and takes the measures required by applicable law to ensure that personal information is not lost, stolen, leaked, forged, altered or damaged.

7. Users' rights

Users may request access to, correction or deletion of, or suspension of the processing of their personal information, and the Institute will act without delay in accordance with applicable law.

9. Browser preferences

This site’s interface code does not set cookies. Only the on/off preference for the Venture Universe effects is kept in the browser’s local storage; this preference is not sent to the server. The hosting provider’s access logs are a separate matter, as described above.
