About the Institute

A private research institute studying venture capital and the capital markets in depth.

The Korea Venture Market Institute (KVMI) is a private research institute studying the law, policy and institutions surrounding venture capital and the capital markets.

By combining hands-on experience in venture investment with academic expertise in capital-market regulation, we present reliable analysis and alternatives so that market participants and policymakers can make sound judgments. The Institute's research is conducted under the sole responsibility of a single principal researcher, and our work is prepared by giving priority, wherever possible, to primary sources and the text of the law.

Seung-uk Bae Ph.D.

A Ph.D. in commercial and capital-markets law, Dr. Bae researches the law and policy of venture capital, the capital markets, and digital finance. He conducted policy and institutional research at the Korea Capital Market Institute and Korea Venture Investment Corp., and now leads KVMI's research, education, and policy analysis, alongside academic societies and university teaching.
